(English Below)
Hello everyone!!! Today I bring you a post that I hope will make you salivate and enjoy as I did during my trip to Rome, I leave you the first part of this incredible experience here in case someone has missed it Rome Bound!!!
One of the main reasons why I always wanted to travel to Italy was to taste his well-known and praised cuisine. I must tell you that I am a foodie if you did not know yet hahahaha And what better opportunity than this one to share with you all the delights that this historic city has to offer us.
I am a person who likes to eat clean and healthy but I knew that being in Italy would be a little difficult to follow my eating habits, so I prepared myself and decided that this week instead of having a day of cheat meal would be five, I thought I deserved it and that it will be worth it also it is never a bad thing to stick some whimsy in a balanced way if you are being aware of it.
The first day we arrived very tired looking forward to a good pasta and we were lucky enough to have several restaurants around the corner from our apartment. We decided to go to Al Boschetto, a place with true traditional Roman cuisine in which we could enjoy a memorable dinner. Go up to see the pictures of our first dinner.
The next day in the Vatican City we had several references but none were open at the time we arrived so we had to venture ourselves and the truth is that we did not bad. We went for Il Pozzetto, a pizzeria that looked quite busy and reasonably priced for its location. The truth is that I’m not very into pizzas but when they are well and home made, with their thin and crunchy dough. Who can resist? The result was a tasty and 100% recommendable experience. As the photos prove.
On the third day we went again to our area which as I mentioned was full of restaurants. This time after reviewing TripAdvisor, we decided to prove the Taverna dei Monti where we enjoyed one of the best meals of our stay. An extensive menu helped us taste a wonderful risotto, fresh pasta and gnoquis, something that I had never tasted before and that I really liked a well mix between its own flavour accompanied by the traditional Italian pesto. A restaurant that is definitely worth it. There the photos of these delicious dishes.
I believe that what I most wanted to taste were their famous gelattos and finally the moment arrived, we wanted to tried them on one of the typical ice cream spots of Piazza Navona but the one that recommended us was closed so we had to settle for an ice cream shop that we found in Via Nazionale. The choice was difficult as there were thousands of flavours and I wanted to try them all, but in the end I decided to go for mango, kiwi and pistachio. I know that the combination may sound weird but I assure you it was one of the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. I discovered the taste of pistachio last summer and it fascinated me, now every time I see it I do not hesitate to ask for it hahahaha
And of course, I left the best for last. We had to bid farewell to the city as it deserved and what better than a dinner in the heart of Trastevere. The one we chosen was Roma Sparita, we went to this restaurant because I had seen several people on Instagram who had gone and only spoke wonders about it. A typical Roman place but with a modern and contemporary feel. The Cacio and Pepe was in every room, an exquisite taste, the best dish I tried in Rome without a doubt. We could not leave Italy without trying some of their typical desserts, so I opted for a delicious tiramisu that tasted to glory.
The other meals, we made it in our apartment taking advantage of the kitchen and the tranquillity of a home after so much walking.
So far my culinary experience in the country of pasta, pizza, gelattos … I hope you liked it and that you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I see you in the next post and in my Instagram. Do not forget to leave your comments and thoughts above.
