Rome Bound!!!

Hola a todos! Hace un mes me fui unos días a disfrutar de la capital italiana con la familia y hoy me gustaría compartir esta experiencia con vosotr@s. Hace tiempo que no compartía ningún viaje y creí que este era el momento adecuado. Aquí os dejo mis últimas aventuras: Mis viajes! Como sabéis por anteriores post y Lotofdots Food soy una amante de la comida y hablando de Italia esto sólo puede significar una cosa. La semana que viene habrá una entrada sólo dedicada a hablaros de las delicias que degusté en esta adorable e insaciable capital gastronómica.

Por lo que hoy me gustaría empezar compartiendo que estuvimos 5 días alojados en un apartamento en el centro que conseguimos gracias a Rental in Rome, un portal de alquiler para estancias cortas al igual que los ya conocidos: Airbnb, Homeaway o Wimdu. Os dejo aquí el link por si a alguien le pudiera interesar, Apartamento Roma, deciros que era muy amplio y la ubicación era perfecta cosa que para mi es primordial en todos los viajes que realizo.

El primer día salimos de Barajas con destino Ciampino, donde teníamos contratado el trayecto en bus hasta el centro de Roma (Termini) y llegamos a nuestro alojamiento a media tarde, hora perfecta para hacer la compra de la semana y conocer un poco el barrio (Monti, se dice que es barrio de artistas y bohemios).

La aventura empezó al día siguiente cuando nos dirigimos en metro a la Ciudad del Vaticano, donde pudimos observar en primer lugar la magnificencia de la Plaza de San Pablo y la Cúpula, para los que tuvimos que aguardar una laaaarga cola, menos mal que el tiempo acompañó.

La visita siguió con la obligada visita a la Capilla Sixtina y los museos del Vaticano donde pasamos horas admirando esculturas, pinturas y sobre todo la espectacular obra de Miguel Ángel. Algo que sin duda merece ser visto al menos una vez en la vida.

Después de un largo día bien nos merecimos una noche de descanso preparados para coger fuerzas para el día siguiente.

Y para que no se haga muy larga esta aventura, he decidido dividirla en varias partes así que, os espero en la segunda parte en la que os avanzó que las fuentes son las protagonistas 😉

Hello everyone! A month ago I went a few days to enjoy the Italian capital with the family and today I would like to share this experience with you. I have not shared any trips for some time and I thought this was the right time. Here I leave my last adventures: My travels! As you know by previous post and Lotofdots Food I am a food lover and speaking of Italy this can only mean one thing. Next week there will be a post dedicated only to tell you about the delights that I tasted in this adorable and insatiable gastronomic city.

So today I would like to start by sharing that we were there for 5 days and we stayed in an apartment in the center that we found thanks to Rental in Rome, a website of short term stays like the already known: Airbnb, Homeaway or Wimdu. I leave here the link in case anyone could be interested, Rome Appartment, I tell you that it was very spacious and the location was perfect a thing that for me is paramount in all the trips I make.

The first day we left from Barajas to Ciampino, where we hired the bus ride to the center of Rome (Termini) and then we arrived at our accommodation in the afternoon, perfect time to make some shopping for the week and get to know the neighborhood (Monti, is said to be a neighborhood of artists and bohemians).

The adventure began the following day when we went by subway to the Vatican City, where we could see in the first place the magnificence of St. Paul’s Square and the Dome, for which we had to wait for a loooong queue, at least the weather accompanied.

The day continued with the visit to the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums where we spent hours admiring sculptures, paintings and especially the spectacular work of Michelangelo. Something that is certainly worth to be seen at least once in a life time.

After a long day we deserved a night of well rest in order to prepare ourselves to gather strength for the next day.

And so that this adventure does not become very long, I decided to divide it into two parts so, I will see you in the second part in which I advanced you that fountains are the main stars 😉
