(English Below)
Hi everyone! We’re already in February and I would like to start the shortest month of the year giving you my latest healthy updates. As I did in January –A Balanced Life III– I want to share with you my lovely discoveries.
Like I said to you before I am a person who likes to try and discover new things and that’s why I am always looking for updates in food, fashion, beauty or restaurants (my weaknesses) lol When I go to restaurants for example I like don’t like to order the same things again and again, I enjoy tasting exotic and different flavors. In the menu they may not have much in common, but then the result is spectacular, although I always have to be aware of what each dish is made of due to my food allergy, but I’ll leave that for another day.
Thus, I encourage you to be curious and always try new things not to judge it at the first sight. To have a former opinion about something you have to try it before.
So let’s go with it I introduce you my January favorites:
- Firstly, millet, a cereal suitable for coeliac because of its absence of gluten. Which makes it turn, very light at the time of digestion. Among its properties we can highlight: good source of proteins, although not as much as quinoa, since this would have to be accompanied with legumes to get the complete protein; Carbohydrates, contains a large dose of low glycemic index, ideal for our body; It does not contain virtually fats yet they are unsaturated (the good ones); Very diverse in terms of minerals and vitamins: A and B as well as phosphorus, iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc. As a good cereal that it is, offer you the dose of fiber necessary so start adding it to your daily diet 😉 Its cooking is the same as rice or quinoa.
- It is turn to fruits, I had long been hearing wonders about grapefruit, but I had never dared until one day I saw it in the market and I ventured myself into a mountain of citrus and rosy tastes. Its main benefits are: great antioxidant power, contributes iron absorption and prevents cases of anemia because of its high dose in vitamin C, enjoys lycopene in its pulp, as well as magnesium and potassium. Very good in weight loss diets because of its diuretic and depurative qualities. We can consume it in juice or salads, among other options.
- As I do not like coffee, I am a tea lover and my last downfall has been the discovery of the chai tea. I can assure you that it is great and if you like cinnamon as much as I do, you are going to love it. It has the perfect blend of spice and the perfect taste that does not make it too spicy. It can be prepared solo or accompanied with milk, I have tried it with oat milk which is the one I use daily and also has a very palatable taste. As for its properties: great anti-inflammatory power which makes it perfect to help make digestion, great antioxidant source preventing cardiovascular diseases and controls cholesterol levels.
This has been all for today, I hope you guys enjoyed it and leave me below in the comment section your last updates or whatever you feel like.
See you in the next one,
xx
I’m a fan of quinoa, so I might need to try that cereal too. Hope to find it in doha!
